Audio recording

I need an app wich lets me record sound. It has to be a download, preferrably a small one. It must work with the old iMacs internal speaker.

Don't need anything fancy like audio editing, but it'd be great if I could get the sound in .mp3-format

Try searching Version Tracker. I think Amadeus and a few others will fill this need.

I prefer Amadeus to Soundstudio... it seems to do more for less money, and Sound studio had a bug (apparently fixed now) which scrambled recordings if you edited them. This put me right off using it...

SoundHack ... I use it for quick-n-dirty sound recording, but it also handles lots of effects and such. I believe its freeware as well. Also, its available for most machines, i.e., I run it on my B&W G4 running OS X, but also on my Quadra660 A/V running 8.1.

I'd highly recommend it.
