Back to OS 9.2x on iBook?

I'm thinking of going back to OS 9.2x on my iBook, in order to improve performance, and to use some Classic software. (I now have Jaguar running on both iMac and iBook. The iMac is nice and snappy, but my iBook, while acceptable, still runs a bit sluggishly for my taste.)

Any things I should think about, or know about, before I do this?

You can boot to OS 9 on the book and see if there is an improvement. Have you compared the iMac to the iBook to see what is set differently?

While in OS 9, check the memory control panel. You should have virtual memory turned on and Ram disk off.

If you go into the 'Classic' control panel from OSX and then disable anything in Classic, that you have no need for - and it could amount to a lot of extensions...
and
Disable AppleTalk and AT printing.

My iBook runs with a really good performance after having done the above...
Specially the AT disable gave the machine a lot of 'freshness'...

Just an idea..
