copying from a cd...

I am trying to copy info from a cd (a vcd to be specific) and I am getting this error...

I have no idea why I can't copy this... any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...
 
the VCD is probably gunked up or has scraches

and if you are just going to use it on the computer just take the mpeg file
 
The CD doesn't have anything on it.... this only happens with vcd's (it happend once before) and that is the movie file, there is no .mpg file on the cd...

the same cd works on windows (we were watching it last night at work) I want to watch it on my mac, but the only vcd player I can find is vlc, and I can't get it to work unless I have the file on my HD... :(
