Does iDVD work with retail DVR-A04?

I would like to replace the internal CD writer of my Quicksilver G4 733 with the Pioneer DVR-A04 (retail version of the Superdrive). Do Mac OS X and especially iDVD run properly with the retail Superdrive? Does anybody have experience with this? Are there any special drivers necessary?
 
All right, I tried it myself. I replaced the built-in CD writer with the Pioneer DVR-A04 drive.

iDVD opened just fine and I could start creating my own DVD!

By the way, as far as I read in several Mac mags, the Pioneer DVR-A04 and DVR-A03 are the only DVD writers that iDVD accepts and only as an internal drive (ATAPI/IDE).
