External Hard Drive - Help

hey,

My western digital external hard drive has stopped being recognised by my Mac. I noticed it had stopped recognising the disk while it was still plugged in - as I used it earlier that day. It is still lit up and making no unusual sounds.

I have used disk utility, and have an 'invalid sibling link'. I personally don't know what this means and was wondering firstly, if it is possible to repair the hard drive myself, and if not if there is any way I can retrieve the information on the drive itself....It houses my entire iTunes, as well as much of my work.

Get a copy of DiskWarrior. It is very possible it is just a corrupt directory structure caused by being ejected improperly that Disk Utility is unable to repair
