Hello List

I am trying to play the game Crystal Key on Mac OS X. It has loaded
the classic 9.1 environment since the game is not OS X compatable :-(
When I click on the icon to play the game it loads fine...when I get to the menu in the game and click on Introduction The game quits..This is very frustrating :-( HEEELLLPPP!!!

If your game is crashing under Classic, you may need more RAM. OSX is a RAM hog, especially while running classic. Turn everything off except for classic and see if it still crashes. I know virtual memeory is supposed to alleviate the dreaded "RAM crash", but I still hear this happening.

hello
Thanks for the reply...btw. when one does a show info on mac
classic the window shows each application and how much memory is
being used. When I do a show info in Mac OS x it just shows the
version window...is there anyway I can see how much memory the OS
taking while on OS X?

open a terminal and enter the command top.
the outpu of top looks kind of cryptic, but you should be able to gather information on each app running.

Also, you can use the processviewer.app under the /Applications/Utilities folder. This one lets you see how much memory each app is using by percentage and you can isolate the app you are looking for.

Good Luck,:)

hello
Thanks much,

Tried the procees viewer under Utlities folder....not very good but better
than nothing. How do you get into the command language of UNix btw?

Aaron

For example, if you want to run the command top, open the terminal and type the word top at the flashing prompt. Then hit enter and the command should run.

Good Luck,:)
