How to completely uninstall corrupted aol on mac

I am trying to completely uninstall a corrupted copy of aol from my mac, have deleted all aol files that I can find, yet when I try to install a fresh copy of aol it freezes up. This tells me there are still some hidden files of aol somewhere on the mac that are preventing a new installation. Please help!

Open Activity Monitor in your Utility folder and see if anything AOL related is running.

Then download and run EasyFind for AOL. It will also find any invisible files, and you can trash from it's window.
