Infrared and OSX

Does anyone know if there is a way to enable the infrared (IR) port under OS X? I have a Rev. B iMac that I use with my Palm to Hotsync via IR. Works great under OS 9, but it looks like there is no support under OS X: http://docs.info.apple.com/article....alue=100&showSurvey=false&sessionID=anonymous|162407193

If anyone knows of a driver or hack I'd love to hear about it!

I know that there is Infrared support for PowerBooks... don't know about iMacs, though. Go to your "System Preferences" and click on "Network".... one of the available ports should be IrDA Modem Port. Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. I tried as you suggested, but had no luck. Apple claims it doesn't support it on Rev B. iMacs, so this is a long shot.

and drag IrDA to the menu

I'm still missing something here. I found the item as you described, but what menu am I supposed to drag it to?

drag it to a blank space on your menubar. Or, just double-click it, I believe

I can drag every other menu item onto the menu bar - except IrDA. It starts to make a space for it between other icons, but then nothing happens when I release it.

then that means that you probably don't have support for IrDA really sorry
