Iphoto as a "standalone" programme?

Dear everyone,

I really love iLife, whichever version. But my problem is I do not use all the programmes. Eversince I have purchased my IMac 500 mhz indigo it had iPhoto 1.0 on it. Beautiful programme, but sooooooooo slow!!! Is it possible to get an update? And then I don not need all the other stuff in iLife! Just iPhoto! Where and how can I get it? Is it possible at all?
Help PLEASE!!
