IrDA-USB-Bridge

Hi Everybody,
since I'd like to sync my palmpilot with my ibook by IR, I tried to use an external IrDA-USB-Bridge. The SystemProfiler shows this Device in the USB-Information. But now I'd like to know how to use this device. Is there any standard-driver or software for IrDA-Bridges that I can install or does MacosX support this type of devices and how do I use it then?

The last I recall is that there is no support for IrDA in X, even with systems that have it built-in. I could be wrong here, so someone else will have to correct me here.

That said, if X is going to recognize it, you should see an option in HotSync Manager's Connection Settings:

There would be a tickbox here to enable hotsync over IrDA. If it's not there, you'll probably need drivers from the IrDA adaptor's manufacturer to make it work.
