Kernel Panic on Classic Startup

My Mac won't start classic!

The progress bar gets near the end and then the screen darkens and the 4-language "restart your computer" comes up which is a Kernel Panic right?

Classic will start with the "no extensions" option but doesn't run everything without extensions and I have no idea what Classic needs to run.

Norton utilities hasn't picked up on anything.

Spec:
Original model G4 400, 512mb RAM running OS 10.2.2 installed alongside the latest OS 9 (9.2.2 IIRC).

All suggestions most welcome!

Thanks.

Yes, it does work with extensions disabled.

In fact it now works as normal. Just kept trying it until it gave up panicking and worked. No rhyme or reason to it.
