Mac mini wont boot up

Hi
Hope someone can help me!
I have just tried to boot up my mac mini and I get as far as the Starting Mac OSX blue page with the progress bar that gradually fills with blue but then it freezes.

Have tried a couple of times but no luck.Have tried booting from the startup disc to but no joy there. All I can do is boot in Target mode.

Any suggestions?

I have an iMac as well if there's any way I can use that to help?

Try booting in safe mode first- Hold down the shift key right after your turn on the Mini.
