Mac upgrade timing

Hey everyone,

I'm on a Powerbook G4 12" laptop at the moment, and have been eying the MacBook Pro laptops for a while now.

I'm in Japan, and it's pretty easy to sell used laptops for a high price to shops here in order to "trade-up" to a later model.

What is the look out now for MacBook pro models? Would it be best to move now? Or wait until the next release?

I have heard rumors that the new MacBooks run very hot? Fan trouble? Or maybe I'm just making that up.

I'm not up to speed on the next OS release timings either.

Any advice or tips appreciated!
 
I'd wait until they ship with 10.5 if you are not in hurry .. it should be by end of October or early November latest.
 
Some people tell that there should be a Mac related announcement on next Tuesday (Aug. 7th).

Has anyone heard any rumors about anything to fix the problem of Macbook Pros running hot?

My current powerbook G4 gets pretty toasty, about 64 Celcius, and it irks me...

Are the newest Macbook Pro's any better?
