macbook battery question

I know it's okay to leave it plugged in 24/7 as long as I complete at least one battery cycle a month, but should I unplug it when i turn it off, or does it matter?

It's ok either way - as long as you won't get the battery ever 100 % empty and keep it empty for weeks, as that would do no good for it.

If you intend to not use the computer for some time (3 or more weeks), then Apple recommending charging (or discharging) the battery to 50%, then storing the computer (preferably with the battery disconnected from the unit).

Can't disconnect the battery on any MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 17" (early 2009). ;)

Well, it's certainly feasible, but not as easily as with older MacBooks etc. And to me it looks like they're going this way for the next 13" MB and 15" MBP iterations as well. But now we're off-topic, I guess...

It's Steve's way of increasing the battery life to 5 years, but making damn sure you don't go more than a week without using the computer. :)
