my monitor is displaying inverted colours...?

I just played a quick demo of a racing game, and wanted to change view to outside the car, so instead of looking up what button this was, I mashed ther keyboard, and suddenly the screen changed to inverted colours, at first I thought 'cool' but niw, after a restart they are still inverted! its starting to get on my nerves...

Anybody know if this is a feature of osx that I can turn off somewhere?

Just noticed something strange in UA. If I hit the tab Switch to White on Black it inverts colors, but if I use the key commands for that action I do get white on black (inverted grayscale.)

Combining the Switch to White on Black with the Black Light haxie screen effect yields a subtle silvery bluish shimmer.
