netinfo denies me root!!!

Fragger

Lorem Ipsum
okay so i had to reinstall a while ago after messing with linux partitions and screwing over something or other.

Anyways I reinstalled and was happily wolfensteining along until i needed to su in order to build an irc bot.. i went to netinfo and authenticated... then i went to enable root user and got

"NetInfo write failed! (Operation succeeded)"

now it said operation succeeded but it won't let me set the password! So I am denied root on my own boxen, which sucks a great deal,

someone please enlighten me into the phreaked out workings of netinfo...!!

thanks,
graham

Don't know about the net info question, but you can sudo instead of su. sudo executes one command as root and drops you back to your previous account. Only users who are admins can sudo (IIRC).

yes i know, but i would prefer to be able to su in certain situation, thanks for the suggestion, however :)
