no hope for data?????

A few weeks ago I installed Tiger to my G4 PB. For a couple days everything was fine, till one day i had to reinstall again because it wasn't booting up. Now it makes a loud noise when i move it, and my hardrive isn't there when I go into target mode and try to transfer the data to my old imac. when i try disk utility from the install disc it doesn't even read the HD to fix. There are, however, some red error messages. If the HD is totally bad, how possible is it to have data retrieved by apple or someone else?

It does sound like the hard drive has taken a turn for the worse, and probably needs to be replaced.

Apple doesn't do data retrieval.

I figured I'd have to replace it
I've backed up data here and there, but not as much as i should have. I learned the hard way. Hope disksavers isn't too outragious
