no response to keyboard input

I have a PowerPC G4, OS 10.3.9. Recently I have started having a problem in which anything typed on the keyboard fails to appear on-screen.

I have managed to fix the problem but only temporarily by performing various combinations each of the following...

- reseating the keyboard connection in the USB port
- changing to the other USB port
- powering down
- warm booting
- changing the mouse connection from the keyboard to the back

...but the problem always comes back after just a few minutes of using the Mac. No matter where it is plugged in, and without regard to whether the keyboard is working, the mouse always continues to work as expected.

see whether you can perform a safeboot, reset rpam, boot from cd. if those keys can be invoked then try to enable "show keyboard viewer" from system preferences then international. This will tell you which keys are not working. You may have to send it in for repair or better yet just buy another one so you won't have to pay for labor if your not covered by the warranty. Try another keyboard as well to isolate the problem
