Office for Mac 2011 DVD will not load

New DVD fresh out of the box. Inserted into drive. Acts like it is going to load, then ejects itself.


MacBook Pro 10.6.8
2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM


Before trying to load Office for MAC 2011, Turbo Tax Deluxe successfully loaded.
 
Not new. Every MS disk I've ever had showed same signs. Eventually it will load, just keep trying. Last time I had problem, I gave up and used external DVD burner (Sony) and it worked 1st time.

If all else fails, call MS and ask--no, demand--a new DVD.
 
Got the new DVD, but it turns out it was my Superdrive. Got it replaced at the Apple Store. All is well.

Thanks for the info though.
 
You could also download the trial version on the microsoft website and then just enter your code (which should be delivered with the CD?). Thus no need for a CD.
