Osx Cannot Play Music Cd"s??

ok, easy question,
my powebook g3 with osx (newest version) cannot read my music CD,

the music cd is a normal cd, not burnt, bought from a cd store.
 
errm, real cd, lemme see.

pretty sure its "real" since its like brought from a HMV CD Store,
well, its really weird. my G4 could play it, and my G3 PowerBook cannot, and the 2 macs have the exact same OS, on it.
which is OSX
 
Well, hmm, this sounds like a no brainer. It works in A G4 tower, and not in an older model of the Powerbook, the G3 Series. I suggest that the problem lies with the G3, not the CD. Then Again, Does it work in a normal CD player?
 
maybe its a os x related problem. ive had the same problem wit os x on my imac dv se 500. after a reinstallation of os x it worked again.
 
I hope I'm not insulting anyone's intelligence here, but have you tried to play any other music cd's in that Power Book?
 
yep, my powerbook could play other music cd but just a few others ones...
yep and that "CD" can play in a normal CD Player.

well, as i said both compuers running exact same OS, 9/X
