powerbook 12 external display with lid closed

When you close the lid, doesn't the computer go into sleep mode?
What kind of problems are you experiencing?

Well, I should have explained further. I have found out how to make it go into external display mode and close the lid and everything works fine.

My question is based around whether anyone has had any heat related problems in this set-up.

The powerbook 12 seems to be made differently than the other pb's so I am thinking that it won't hurt them to run the 12 with the lid closed
