Question marks on emails

When I open an email from a web site that may have icons or pictures they all appear as boxes with question marks in them. How come? Whats wrong? Also the mail icon in the dock show that I have 2 emails but I have read them all. what's wrong?

The Question Marks in Mail mean the same thing as in Safari-The Source cannot be found. So this means that the E-Mail's Source Code defines the "img src" incorrectly. If this isn't the case, check your internet connection, what cant load cant appear.

The unread message problem is rather weird...single click the email, it should become "read" after 5 seconds, if not right click it, go to mark->mark as read.
