Hi,
I need to replace the Apple factory installed 256Mb memory module in my iMacG4,1GHz -17"flat panel which is faulty - does anyone have a copy of a PDF manual to enable me to do this myself? Or is there a web URL someone can point me too? As far as I can tell I need a PC2100 184 pin SDRAM can anyone recommend which Kingston Module I should order and what thermal paste I should buy?
Thanks!

Thermal paste for memory ??

Hi bobw, Don't I need the thermal paste for re-attaching the base plates together on the casing of the iMac  - I thought the metal base plate acts as heat dissipation for the iMac?
Thanks for URL info - I read there that Apple say these factory RAM modules are not end-user installable need to be replaced by AASP but how difficult can it be????? ;)

Hi bobw - Big thanks for the PDF! :D Doesn't look that big a deal to fit the module! So will order the RAM and try it out :D

Just remember you will probably void your warranty by digging past the user-serviceable parts on your iMac G4 to get to the factory installed RAM…

Hi - just to say I have just replaced that faulty factory fitted 256Mb module with new Kingston 512MB module, repasted and reassembled case and all is working fine again ;-) now to upgrade system software to Tiger ;-) - onwards and upwards!!! thanks for all the help I recieved !!!
