Setting Up Yahoo email as the default on MAC

Just got a new mac and if I am on a sight and try to click on an email address I am prompted to set up a new email account. I want to continue using my yahoo email accoount....so the question is how do I set up yahoo as my default email provider. Is it a POP account? I have not been able to figure thhis out.

You cannont use Yahoo on your computer unless you pay to upgrade your service, then you get POP. It is better to just sign up with Gmail and use that.
