Sharity works, Finder does not

I made my first attempt to mount an Windows shared (SMB) file system. Unfortunately, I was unable to do this directly from the Finder. I get a "No file services provided at URL" or some such thing.

I downloaded Sharity and (eventually) made it work).

Sharity is nice, but really, I'd like to just do this right from the Finder (without Sharity).

Anyone else with similar experiences?
 
I get the same response when trying to mount windows drives. I hope this is fixed. I've heard of people having success but I've tried multiple PC's and none work.

I'm one of two macs in a networked fraternity house where the rest are all PC's, so I've had plenty of opportunities to try.

Hope someone can provide some incite.
 
...and I have read elsewhere (Apple's message boards for example) that there may be an issue with 10.1.2.
