Should I get 2 17s or 1 21...

I currently have 3 displays on my G4 all running at 1280x1024. I am VERY used to working in a multiple display environment but I think I'm sick of my CRTs. I would hate to go down to a single display and then hate it because my desktop was too small.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy one 20.1" Formac display or two 17.4" Formac displays. Getting two 17.4s would cost about 100 dollars more than getting the 20.1"

For those of you with a 17" LCD...is it really like having a 19" CRT?

What would you do?

I'd go with the 2 17-inchers. Sure it's $100 more but you will get a lot more screen space than the single 20.4 incher, making it well worth it. LCD's do really have more space than a CRT of the same measurement, it's not just a made-up selling point.
 
I also just realized that the design of the display would make it impossible to position the two screens right next to each other [not a huge deal].

i'm leaning towards the dual 17s
 
Yeah, if you are used to working with several displays, just one would feel claustrophobic :) But can't you keep using the CRTs too, or is there some technical mumbo-jumbo i'm missing?
 
I went from a dual setup on my PowerBook to a single on a PowerMac and all of a sudden bad decisions on button and palette UI elements become _painfully_ apparent. I find I'm _constantly_ shuffling around obese menus and dropdowns (1 19" @ 1280x1024). Not being able to glance over to see if I have any worthwhile mail or messages is annoying too.

I say go dualie. I wish I could go back.
