smb browse problem

i installed smb browse app.
my pc is recognized as
- workgroup
-- pcname

after,,, the connection times out.
what could b the problem?
 
I'm assuming the "issue" was that the firewall was blocking ports needed by SMB/CIFS. In which case your solutions would be:

1) Don't use the firewall
2) Open the ports needed by SMB/CIFS (or properly configure NAT/IP sharing/etc. or whatever you were doing wrong)

How's Zurich? I love CH...

how do i open mac ports? (sorry, i will do a research on this,, no idea,. )



and yes! zh is beautiful in summer
 
the OS X .2 has smb included. Just check windows sharing within the network panel...
it work great but pc must have the same IP and mask as your mac...

there is only one pb... the refresh time of smb... i noticed that on my G4 with an ethernet 100 BT switch... the pc volume mounted doesn't refresh it's content by himself... i need to load it again... if someone have an idea about this pb...
