I have an imac, 2 years old, and i was wondering if there is any internal way of adjusting the bass, treble on the sound.
I do not notice an option for that in system preferences, (sound).

Thanks,
Terry

Is this specifically when listening from iTunes or just sound on your Mac overall? If it's from iTunes, you can play with the equalizer settings within iTunes. Otherwise, you might want to check in Applications-->Utilities and launch Audio/MIDI Setup. You might be able to tweak the sound a bit more from there.

Thank you for your reply,
My problem is i have new speakers, a small set of Logtech.
I have tried 2 or 3 other sets, and all of them have the same problem, too much low end, (bass).
I took them back.
I tried looking in applications for utilities as you suggested, but there is no utilities option there.
Does this require a download, or am i not looking in the right place.
I should tell you that i am an old guy, and not all the computer savvy.
Thanks,
Terry

Are you listening to music?
What app are you using for music? If it's iTunes, that has a built-in equalizer with a lot of adjustment.
I have seen some other apps that include an equalizer. The operating system (OS X) does not have a system-wide utility that provides adjustment for bass and treble.

I was actually pointing you where the Audio/MIDI setup application was. It is in Macintosh HD-->Applications-->Utilities. In other words, open your Macintosh HD icon (on the desktop), open the Applications folder, then scroll down to the Utilities folder and open that. You should then find the Audio/MIDI Setup application in there. However, as DeltaMac already mentioned, there is no system-wide equalization feature. I checked on my iMac G5 running Leopard and I saw nothing of the sort. Wasn't sure if due to your speaker setup that you might find something like that in that particular app.
