I'm a new Mac user, and am having a password problem. First, I'm running OS X 10.6.2. I'm not sure what I did, but for some reason I am unable to log into the main administrator account set up on the system. When I try to log in, the window just shakes at me.
I have looked up just about everything I can for fixing this, and nothing has worked. I used the original set up disc to change the master password, and it apparently accepts the change, but then I'm still unable to login with the different password.
I have another admin account set up, and I have gone into System Preferences/Security and clicked to change the master password there. I know what the password is, so I put it in and change it, and it apparently accepts it here as well. However, if I try to access the other admin account, I am still unable to.
I've used sudo in terminal mode, but that didn't work either.
That account has all my documents and files on it, and I can't access them any other way.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas on why the password will not change?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.
