Unable to instal software

I am trying to instal some software that will allow me to transfer some stuff from my phone to my Mac. When I try to instal the software it tells me that it cannot be opened in DOS mode. How can I get this software on my Mac?
 
well first off what kind of software are you trying to install onto your mac?if its a .exe (executable file)it really won't be installed since that format is only supported on windows. Tell us the following:
1. what software are you trying to install
2. what is it for?
3. are you trying to install it onto your mac applications?or your bootcamp/vmware/parallels windows?
