unable to open locked file

Can anyone help me.
I have a locked idvd file, that i want to open/burn.

It was made on my old computer, on which i had a different username.
Somehow it is now locked by this old username.

I can unlock it in my "information" window, and i have full privileges read and write. This doesn't help. i still cannot open it.
creating a new user with the old username doesn't work either, because i do not have the file in this user environment.

Does somebody have any suggestions?

Hi JM

Try move the file to /Users/Shared/
Login under old username you should be able to access file from there.

Or you can download this small utility-

Batchmod will allow you to unlock and apply custom permissions to any file/folder with better results than the information window

If the file is truly "locked" in the Mac OS X sense of being "locked," then simply do a Get Info on the iDVD project file in the Finder, and uncheck the "Locked" checkbox.

What, exactly, is happening when you try and open this iDVD project file? What error messages are you receiving? Was the iDVD project file created in the same version of iDVD that you're trying to open it with?
