VPN doesnt want to cooperate

I've setup a VPN connection between 2 routers (both Draytek)
Ive used L2TP with IPSec Policy
the connection is stable and i can login to the remote router and the remote server (my office)
but as soon is i try to download something off the server i get the download window and a spinning weel
I have to reset to get my system to function again because the spinning weel keeps spinning but it won't copy my files
does anyone got this problem or knows how to fix it??
 
Could possibly be an MTU problem. Go into the advanced settings for your Ethernet connection and lower the MTU to something like 1400. This will allow for the extra overhead of IPSEC.
