x11 and gimp

i have installed the latest versions of x11 and gimp on my osx 10.2.4 box.
however, whenever i start up x11, it starts up gimp automatically ?

does anyone know how i change this.

I'm pretty new to all this so I could be very wrong! But I think you must have a call for GIMP in your xinitrc file.

This will either be in /etc/x11/xinit or you might have a .xinitrc (note the dot) in your home directory. If not, do a search on these lists and you'll find loads about this file.
