Buyer's Question new MB or refurb MBPro?

i'd get a refurb mac over a new mac. they carry the same warranty as new, and cost less.

Installing OS 9 on MacPro OS X 10.4.8

truth be told, the easyest and cheapest way for you to run os 9 apps is to get an older mac that runs os 9 nativtly. if sheepshaver didn't work for you, then your out of luck, as its the only option for intel macs.

    IMOVIE Help Please!

open the movie in quick time and then get movie info. look at the sound and see if its muxed or demuxed. one of these will work in imovie, and the other will not. i can't remember right now, but i'd say your camera records the sound in a way imovie can't read.

    Updating Video Card Drivers?

you don't update nvidia video drivers on macs. they are part of the os, so they get updated when the os is updated, thats it. this is because apple writes the drivers, not nvidia. ati on the other had does write its apple drivers, which is why they will have updates for their mac vid cards on...

    Moving Appleworks via ethernet cable

well, on a pc he'd need a crossover cable, but almost all macs with a g4 cpu have autoswitching ports with allow you to use any cable you have. don't ask me to remember where i learned that fact, because i can't remember, but i have found it to be true when i put it to the test on my da/466.

    DVD-DL in DVD-R/W Drive

nope, it requires the hardware to be set up to burn on 2 layers. and if the drive can't burn to two layers, it'll fail every time. but the reason it sees it right is because its reading the header of the cd (which is readable by all drives, and also contain info like who made the disk too)...
