    Where do you Think Different

heh...actually it was a joke only. I'm looking at the Kodak DX3900, but I have a few purchases ahead of it, namely another 60 gig drive, a Hollywood DV Bridge, a 15" kicker monitor, and another drive and more ram for my pb. It's a never ending buying cycle. :D

    SETI@home Startup Items

Wish I could help, but I run the text-only version of SETI and control it with SetiDockling. :(

    Bookmarking terminal commands

What difference is there doing it your way, versus putting aliases in .tcshrc?

    Network Functions When Sleeping

Yep, everything's blocked. Can't ssh to it, ping it, etc., it's as if it doesn't exist.

    Somebody finally clued in!

I'll bet he's thrilled at the "leak", if you can call it that. My guess is, it was meant for the press. "Trustworthy computing", "highest priority".....suuuuuure, and I have a bridge I'd love to sell you. :D

    Ti Memory

I buy thousands of dollars of RAM from >datamem< every year. Great prices (not always the absolute cheapest, but close enough) and fantastic service, which hopefully you won't need. Another one is >OtherworldComputing< (same thing, I buy like crazy from these guys as well).

    Putting Tbook to sleep..

I'd love to see Apple fix the problem with sleep and Wallstreets (possibly others). If the pb is asleep then unplugged, the fan comes on and stays on as long as it's unplugged. Basically making sleep unless in my case.

How to delete a removed_user folder???

ony_gosshamer: Ok, I concede to the fact that not everyone wants to "get their hands dirty" with terminal, and will continue to reboot to OS9 just to delete a damn locked file, for those people...be my guest. For those that do NOT want to be cripple by an OS, either continue with OS9 or read for...

    .dmg files!??! help!!!!!

Joseph: try downloading from a reputable bot. :D There was one disk image making the rounds that was corrupt, this might be it.

    .dmg files!??! help!!!!!

In OSX this is a piece of cake, but in OS9, you need to use Disk Copy 6.4 or 6.5b (both of which are not readily available) to convert the image to "whatever.cdr", .cdr is a generic disk image which Toast can recognize. Once you have it converted, just drag it into the Toast window (set to disk...

How to delete a removed_user folder???

Why would you restart to do something that takes you less than 10 seconds in terminal? I'm sorry, but if you need to restart to empty the damn trash, I'd rethink which OS I was using.

    Photoshop 7 beta Installer woes..

I had no problem installing b43 on three machines. Where are you trying to put the app? I put mine on another partition, so there were no permission problems...just a thought.

    buffer underrun

Since Toast 5 came out, I have yet to burn only in the foreground...that's the whole purpose of Toast 5 (for me). I have not made ONE single coaster in almost 3 years (using a CD or a legitimate disk image) using 6 different machines and 4 different burners. By legitimate disk image, I mean...

OS X.2 What do YOU want??

Well, the only thing I really used a RAM disk for was SETI, I had all the SETI files on the RAM disk, and my machine could spin the drives down, etc. I got a quicksilver in early October and have been putting it to sleep at night most of the time, instead of letting it run overnight (SETI, ftp...
