    Discussion: TivoToGo not Mac compatible

TivoToGo was just announced, but of course it's not yet Mac compatible. From Tivo's site: "Are TiVoToGo™ transfers available for Apple Macintosh computers? At this time TiVoToGo transfers are not available for Apple Macintosh computers. TiVo is working hard to enable TiVoToGo features...

iDisk iSync -- Choosing "online" not "sync'd" version

Yeah. That's what I'll do. It was really just a question of getting rid of a lot of garbage off my iDisk before doing the initial sync. Thanks again!

iDisk iSync -- Choosing "online" not "sync'd" version

ElDiablo -- Command-shift-I just brings up a finder window with the sync'd iDisk. It works the second way you suggested, but it's not ideal. Seems to be an all or none proposition. I suppose I could use FTP. Anyhow, many thanks for your input!

iDisk iSync -- Choosing "online" not "sync'd" version

Hi All, Background: I set up iSync to sync my iDisk. It's taking a while and I've realized I should delete some old items I really don't need from the iDisk before continuing the sync. Problem is, not that I've set up sync-ing of iDisk, I can't access the online iDisk -- instead, the finder...

    iPod freezed

I've been having the same problem with my clickwheel iPod as well. It seems to happen after I disconnect the iPod from the cradle that I use to hook it to my stereo. I can get the menu button working again by connecting the iPod to my Mac and then disconnecting it. This is how it happens...

Where can I find the smallest font possible?

mini 7 is my favorite. I bought it a few years back and have found it extremely useful. EDIT -- Sorry. I read your post more closely and see that this doesn't help. ::angel::

Desktop Icon Placement broken. Anyone else?

Yes. I have this problem as well. Snap to grid is all kablooey too. Hard Drive icon relocates on startup, which I imagine is related in some way. Never could find an answer. Just because it's not important to some doesn't mean it's not important to others. Isn't that what Mac's all about --...

Designing for Section 508: Users with disabilities

Thanks both. 1) I'm already working on installing lynx (happens to be the topic of another one of my posts) 2) I'll definitely install the trial IBM screen reader (I do have a PC). 3) How do I turn off style sheets in Safari? (of course I could simply take the style sheet link out of my...

Designing for Section 508: Users with disabilities

Hi All, I'm in the process of developing a web site with the goal of conforming to section 508 standards -- for users with disabilities. I'd like to download and install some of the user agents (i.e. special web browsers) that most utilize these standards, but I can't seem to find any...

Lynx and Panther hate me. :(

I'd like to install lynx under 10.3.5 but the lynx installer warns: THIS VERSION OF LYNX 2.5.8.d16-SSL WILL ONLY INSTALL on OS X 10.2.x (Jaguar) This Version of Lynx DOES support SSL(https) Is there a version for Panther? Or am I misinterpreting this warning?

    Directory listing to excel file

Hi All, This seems like something that would be simple, but I don't know how to go about it: I'd like to export directory listings (the contents of folders with the various columns -- size, kind, created, modified, etc.) to excel files. Any ideas? Thanks

dreamweaver MX 6.1 (not 2004) garbled entity text

If anyone's still following this thread, I've gotten closer to solving the problem. I use templates or includes to insert the blocks of code for the header and footer on all my pages. The declaration of page encoding is there. So Dreamweaver doesn't always know what the encoding is when...

dreamweaver MX 6.1 (not 2004) garbled entity text

Thanks for your reply mdnky, I thought it might have to do with the encoding. And yes, the encoding is: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> And when you say "How about your system?" Do you mean what platform? I'm on os 10.3. But these documents look...

dreamweaver MX 6.1 (not 2004) garbled entity text

Hi All, Lately, characters have been showing up wrong in Dreamweaver MX 6.1 (but ok for the same documents in MX 2004.) Basically, character entities (i.e. &amp; &hellip; etc.) don't show up properly in the DW environment (they're presented as squares, for example), and the overall font is...

    Dreamweaver Custom Code Hints?

Hi Andehlu, Again, thanks for your reply. Maybe I should explain further what I'm doing -- When I'm typing in code I'd like to be able to start typing my custom tag and have Dreamweaver auto-complete it. Taking my hands from the keyboard to drag and drop defeats the purpose, and creating...

    Dreamweaver Custom Code Hints?

Hi All, I know I can create keyboard shortcuts for snippets, etc. but is it possible to create custom code hints? For instance, I have some custom ASP tags I created (i.e. <%=customTagStart%>content<%=customTagEnd%> ) and I'd like to be able to start typing those tags in code view, and have...

    San Francisco fun

I live in Oakland and work in SF. Things I'd suggest doing: 1. Great restaurants in Mission/Dolores area (I like a crepes place called Ti Couz.) See the Mission Church while you're there -- oldest building in SF. Next to Dolores Park which has a great view of the city from the hill. 2...
