Cannot sleep or turn off computer for long

Yes, I just hooked up a new Cable modem. Just before replying to this post, I couldn't get the machine to turn on when I pressed the "on" button either. I unhooked everything, opened and closed the case, before it would reboot. Any ideas? Do I need to get rid of my new modem? PS: Thanx...

Cannot sleep or turn off computer for long

Hi there. My Dual Proc. G4 with OSX 10.3.4 has been fine. Suddenly, when I go to sleep mode, it goes to sleep and immediately wakes itself up again (it won't sleep). And when I shut it down, it will boot itself back up some time later. Anyone ever experienced this before?

Yeah, it's correct. I just found out that Viewsonic is aware of this problem and they are now sending me some adapter to install between the Mac and the screen. Thanks for your quick response!

G4 Won't Shut Down or Sleep with my Viewsonic LCD

Hi supergeeks. I have a Dual Proc. G4 about 3 mo. old (OSX 10.2.3) and just attached a new Viewsonic 175B flat screen monitor at its preferred 85 Mhz. Works great. Only thing is, my machine won't shut down anymore. I turn it off or put it to sleep, it revs down (however you say it), and...
