    New macs ship with IE?

they'd be crazy to charge for a browser. browsers just don't sell well. there are too many free options, and people will not want to pay for one.

    New macs ship with IE?

i'd say by this time next year IE will be an afterthought on the mac platform. MS hasn't put anything into 5.x in ages. Apple will make safari a top notch program, and unless MS really gets their butts in gear, i don't see the program sticking around when safari goes 1.0

How many of you are using Safari?

i'm still a big chimera fan, but i'm giving safari a try for a couple of days before i make up my mind for sure.

Safari is not as good as the Gecko

then don't use it. it's a public beta, i'm sure we'll see a big jump in performance and features by the time they release 1.0 final. if you like chimera, use chimera. i think it's great that we're seeing competition with browsers on the mac finally.... MS will most likely try to improve their...

    What if? iApps for Win32??

that would be interesting, but i don't see it happening. OS X and all the iApps are made to get people to buy Apple's hardware. right now they are a hardware company that happens to make software to support said hardware. obviously, we're seeing a dramatic shift from a hardware based company...

    Stupid Move on Apple's part

as long as they don't start charging in another package for the other apps, i'll pony up 50 bucks for those apps if they're much improved. if they start charging 50 or so for an ichat, ical, itunes bundle.... no way jose.

    Stupid Move on Apple's part

if they do this the right way, i think not too many feathers will be ruffled. if the more casual iApps like iTunes, iCal, iChat, iSync stay free, and programs like iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD come at a price, i think that would be acceptable. hopefully there would be some sort of option to buy...

Whats with the iPod 1.2.1 update?

i've had 1.2.1 on my iPod for months now.... i think you may have missed that update or something is screwy with SU.

    What to do?

it's always a good idea to wait till after a macworld if possible, sometimes they will lower prices, or offer new hardware/software relases that you would possibly have to pay for if you don't wait. if you CAN wait, i'd hang on a little while longer. honestly though, i don't know what the...
