    Name wont change?

if you have installed dev tools, there's SetFile in /developer/tools you can hide things you don't want to see with this. SetFile -a V whateveryouwanttohide should do it. If you have some partitions, there's probably "temporary items" and "desktop folder" in each one...and afaik...

my personal feeling is that you should go back to OS9 for this if you really care about the quality... I'm not sure how many audio people are using OS X to do their stuffs... you don't see drivers for many hardwares either...

I know that sooner or later, somebody will come up with a way to listen to these stupid things in every way imaginable... what I'm pissed the most about is that ThEY decided how WE should listen to them... when I buy a steak, the butcher doesn't tell me to cook the damn thing well-done...

"When Universal Music Group on Tuesday releases the soundtrack, ``Fast & Furious -- More Music,'' consumers won't be able to copy the music onto another CD or use their PCs to ``rip'' tracks in digital MP3 format. The copy-protection technology will also render the disc unplayable on Macintosh...

uh... isn't Tool Lateralus in STEREO? if you select surround sound mode in your preamp, anything will come out in 5.1, 7.1, or whatever it supports... but the surrond channels won't have their own discrete sound... if the surround channels seem to have their own sound... i think that has...

I agree to some extent... I'm not an audiophile, and my stuffs (I wouldn't bother listing, unless requested) will prolly be considered mid-fi by real audiophiles... so, can I hear the difference between CD and mp3? actually yes, even at 256kbps... but in my opinion, that has more to do...

Joint stereo sometimes introduce artifacts... If you aren't concerned about the space, I'd encode at 256kbps, stereo. I wouldn't bother using VBR. It doesn't really save that much space. you can use lame to encode mp3 with iTunes. --- edited (addtion) forgot when, but 300...
